Since graduating from London School of Dramatic Art in 2023 with the Advanced Diploma in Acting, Karen Sweetman has performed in The Wall Within Musical (Applecart Arts; BBC Stratford Youth Zone, dir. Judith Callol Morante), Animal Farm The Sequel (New Wimbledon Theatre Studio, dir. Ana Isabel Gonzalez), and was recently actor, co-writer, co-producer for Cycle of Echoes (Canal Café Theatre, dir. Ben Sombot).

Karen wrote her first novel when she was fourteen and is writer/creator of the YA franchise The Chillie Willies Ghost Stories published on Amazon. She is also a screenwriter and playwright, with her stage play Therapy set to be released in 2025.

In her earlier years she studied Performing Arts at Astor College of the Arts and was a member of the amateur dramatics society Temple Ewell Players. She is a classically trained dancer and singer, with four years’ experience as a professional vocalist. Her debut screen role was in the 2019 short film Rosy, nominated at London Film Festival Lift-Off Global Network. She has also written and produced her own short film Click, currently in edit.

Karen is passionate about storytelling and finding new ways to delve into concepts, morality, and ultimately exploring what it is to be human through the arts.
